Welcome to another week of things to like. At some point I promise to blog about some art quilts I've been working on, I have one major one finished I haven't shared and another almost finished, but I just haven't been organized enough to get things together to do a post.
Some cool things from this week:
I love these fantastically colorful mosaic street/sidewalk repairs. What a fantastic and artistic way to bring some little patches of joy to some fairly colorless areas. I love that the artist Ememem is known as the pavement surgeon!
I love the math/science nerdy comic XKCD and this one from this week made me laugh. Having 19th century authors or martian soil chemistry show up in your classroom would definitely be weird but good, and volcanology or quasar astronomy showing up in the classroom would definitely be weird and bad. I love the XKCD classifications!
I love my pups (duh) and my flowers!
Your flowers always make me smile. My daughter and I use feedsacks now to plant in. Spooky is just a happy boy! I saw a little of the mosaic repairs before but not as many as in the article. Hmmm can't wait to see where the rubber stoppers end up.
ReplyDeleteI missed reading last week's post, so had to go back and get caught up. Love all the quilts in your office! Your flower planters look really pretty, too. And Spooky is so adorable! He looks like a happy guy!
ReplyDeleteYes, those two certainly do look alike when fur is not considered. I thought first that photo was of the ancient mosaics being uncovered in unlikely spots around the world. I love to read about how these things randomly show up. How talented is this fellow! I tried hard to understand the comic/cartoon...going to have Hubby give it a try. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon! Oh, Spooky is such a cute dork! I had to LOL seeing the ball behind him on the couch. Goofball. Cool reuse of the rubber stoppers. I saw a really COOL picture made from cork stoppers that I was always going to replicate but I don't drink that much wine! I think I have five stoppers saved . . . yeah, it will be a long time before I have enough to do anything with them. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI look forward to see what you do with those stoppers! Love Spooky on the couch! lol I happened to catch that mosaic street repairs earlier this week - they look really cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Love the mosaics and can't wait to see your quilt! Have a great weekend!
